Point In Time Count Update
Every January, communities across the country conduct the federally mandated Point-In-Time (PIT) Count to measure homelessness. The 2025 results were recently released by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and below is a snapshot for Lincoln County, Oregon:
- Total individuals experiencing homelessness: 498
- Sheltered: 247
- Unsheltered: 251
- Youth (ages 0–24): 149 (30% of total)
- Domestic violence survivors: 33 (6.6%)
- Chronically homeless: 101 (20.3%)
- With severe mental illness and/or substance use disorder: 96 (19.3%)
- Veterans: 14 (2.8%)
- People of Color (BIPOC/Hispanic): 136 (27.3%)
Why It Matters
Accurate data helps secure vital funding and shape effective services. The PIT Count shows us where needs are growing (like youth housing instability) and helps guide long-term strategies to ensure every Lincoln County resident has a safe, stable place to call home.
Looking Ahead
Mark your calendars: January 28, 2026 will be the next PIT Count. The Housing Authority of Lincoln County and Community Services Consortium will be working with community partners and volunteers to capture a full picture of homelessness in our county.
